What a beautiful day!

It was an absolutely beautiful day here in the Bay area, despite the earthquake in Oakland at 4:30 this morning (which I didn't even feel). :) Who's Bond-o and my niece both felt it. 4.2 and I slept through it. LOL

Today, my 14-year old niece and I went into the city for girls' day out. First, we had to stop in Oakland to register the name of our new business, which took AN HOUR! It was great fun watching all the other people in the County Recorder's office, though. Especially the ones that were coming in to get their marriage licenses. They had to fill out a form on a computer, and one couple didn't even know their own address. They knew the apartment number, but not the building number. WTF?!? LOL

Anyway, we finally got out of there and got back on the BART and headed to the city. We got off in the shopping district and did some shopping. We had some lunch at my favorite deli there and then did some more shopping. All told, she found a pair of shoes at DSW and a pair of jeans shorts and some tank tops at Old Navy. I got a Jersey Boys CD at Virgin for $10. (They are my new obsession).

We had a really nice time, and were beat by the time we got home. I'll be sad to see her go on Monday morning (and not just cuz I have to take her to the airport before the sun comes up.)

That's all for now. Two blogs in one week, that's a record lately!

Taking the plunge

Today, we took the first steps in officially opening a business. I feel excited, scared, and hopeful all at the same time. About 3 weeks ago, Who's Bond-o and I decided to try our hand at the business thing. He worked very hard to finish up the work he started more than a year ago on a font for music teachers. Everyone we showed it to told us it was fabulous and we should definitely sell it. One person even wanted it right then....money was no object! :)

So, today, I went and got a post office box and filed paperwork with IRS to make us legit. So weird!

Who's Bond-o designed a postcard today, and we are waiting on it to come back from the printer. This is really happening.

Once the website is up and running, I'll post it here. Wish us luck!
