Kite flying!

So, I bought the kids kites back in April, and totally forgot about them until we were at the park on Monday afternoon and saw someone flying one. Uly was so excited and just watched it saying "Kite, mommy, kite!" over and over again. I'm sure he wished he could fly through the sky like Curious George. :)

So, yesterday, we broke out the kites and headed to the park. Uly was excited, but lost interest after he realized I wasn't going to let go of his string (see Curious George reference above), so he headed off to play on the slide.

Here are some pics I took of Miss Nov flying hers.

It's in the air, yippee!! I sure wish I could get the bottom pic to go over so it would look as though she was flying it. Oh well. Here it is all in one shot.

And finally a video. :) Sorry about all the wind noise, but you do need wind to fly a kite.

Our Honey Done List

Well, summer has arrived and that has allowed the Who's Bond-o and I (and Nanny) the opportunity to get a lot of work done around the house. Over the past two weeks, here is what we have accomplished. I call it the Honey Done List:

~ laid a walkway beside the driveway where there used to be an ugly fence and old overgrown flowerbed.

~ had a ceiling fan installed in the dining room giving us much more light than the two old sconces on the wall.

~ fixed Nanny's door so that it will close completely now!

~ fixed the door leading from the kitchen to the garage so that the deadbolt can be locked.

~ cut down the never-been-pruned lemon tree in the backyard.

~ removed the old rusty shed in the backyard (lots more room back there these days).

~ removed some icky rosebushes that weren't flowering

~ Nanny finished painting her room and is currently hanging up pictures.

Not sure what our next projects will be. I'll be sure to add them to my done list though.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Worth the Wait

I know, I know. I haven't blogged since March 31st! But believe me, this one is worth the wait.

So, tonight as we are leaving the parking lot after the fireworks were over, allow me to recount the dialog in the van for you.

Who's Bond-o: "Bye! Thanks for taking our 10 bucks, it was better than a blowjob in Hayward!" (talking to the people directing me out)

Nov: "Yeah right dad! (pause) wait, what's a blowjob?"

Between me and Nanny laughing our ASSES off in the front seat, we listen as Who's Bond-o tries to get out of this one.

W: "Well, (pause) it has to do with a leaf blower (pause).

N: "I don't get it"

W: "There's nothing to get, but needless to say, you don't need to know what it is until you are 18."

To which I add, "and please don't go around asking anyone else what it is either, PLEASE!"

:) Ya gotta love parenthood.
